- Gems TV: My favorite resource for jewelry! Their TV program uses a very unique concept: reverse auctions! The longer the current item remains in stock, the lower the price goes. And when it's all over, everyone pays the lowest price! I've seen some truly gorgeous gemstones and artisan work on their programs. I love GemsTV as well. I bought my mom a ring on there for 29 dollars and I got it appraised and it is worth over 500 dollars. You do get great savings on the website and the TV show.
I've got to question... for the college guy, what could I use these for? My friends would more likely prefer RAM or DVDs to flowers and gift baskets. A few of the more manly men in my group may appreciate Omaha Steaks, because meat is always good, but it'd be a little odd for a Christmas present.
I'd like to point out newegg.com. This tech site has everything at great deals, and could have appropriate stuff for the techie/nerd/geek in your life. If not them, then thinkgeek.com for all the gadgets. Everyone needs a Sonic Boom alarm clock.
Omaha Steaks would be a great christmas present! I agree most of those topics were sort of directed more towards readers of my mindset (25 year old female), but perhaps you've got a mom or an aunt? These could apply for them... Or, if one of your friends is a movie buff, I'm sure one of the sites has a great combination of stuff for a movie lover?
I personally LOVE newegg.com. I used them to purchase components for my desktop gamer system last August. It's my first source for computer stuff. I haven't purchased anything from thinkgeek.com but I have heard of them. I'll have to check them out for my brother's gift.
